I’m about 50 pounds down from January (of this year) with eating changes and exercise. However, this is not a weight-loss blog. This is a blog documenting me reclaiming my health after 43 years.
After much debate and thought I decided to follow a paleo diet instead of a plant-based diet. Over the last six months I have been slowing cutting down on sugar, processed food and instead eating whole foods.
I will save the paleo vs. plant-based debate for a future post. I will say right now it was really just a personal decision about what I thought would work best for me at this point in my life.
Everyone has their own unique challenges mine has really been my mental health. I have struggled with major depression my entire life and was only officialyl diagnosed as bipolar about 5 years ago. I couldn’t possibly write about my weight-loss/fitness/wellness journey without addressing the mind-body connection.
Accepting myself is key and it is a process. Instead of focusing on what I can’t do and what I wish my life is like I am choosing to focus on what I can do.
